Thank you for visiting our first OUL blog. You will find a lot of interesting stuff going on with OUL! Why do we have a blog? The Organization of Unique Learners (OUL) website provides several resources, including various web pages, articles, and stories that share my views on different issues. Our mission is to help and share with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community to raise the awareness of empowering people through enhancing knowledge, experiences, and perspectives of the deaf community, enhancing education, and sharing resources for people with learning disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), the Irlen Spectral Filter and Learning Styles. Additionally, the ability to have group support outside of the real world. For example, a college student would become lost after graduating because there is no support system for the Deaf and Hard Hearing Community in the real world. I have seriously researched to see if there are any resources or information for the Deaf and Hard Hearing Community. Sadly, I found very little information that would support the Deaf and Hard Hearing Community. As an OUL founder, I am in processing to collect all of the information and resources to add to the OUL Page. Here is another example, most Deaf parents who have a child with Learning Disability need the information or need help to support the child's education. There are no resources in American Sign Language that would provide the program to support deaf children with Learning disabilities or special needs. So, my goal is to get more support groups! For example, A group of social workers can work together and share information, or a group of researchers can update and improve information about people with deafness and learning disabilities.
